Lt. Col. (Ret.) LeRoy R. “Roy” Oltman of Hampstead, NC passed away on September 30, 2021. He was the son of Herbert and Mabel Oltman. He was born on May 8, 1927, in Hampton, IL.

He married Jeanine Teboulle of Algiers, Algeria in September 1952. He and Jeanine had three children. Jeanine preceded him in death on December 13, 2007.

Roy was an amazing pilot and lived an extraordinary life. He travelled the world and flew Presidents and other political leaders while in the Air Force One Unit (89th Airlift Wing).

He worked on cars, airplanes, boats, and houses. He enjoyed gardening, ducks, and many other types of birds. In his later years he used to enjoy watching the boats go by along the Intercoastal Waterway.

He is survived by Michelle Oltman, Gary Oltman (Kaven), and Eric Oltman (Cory) and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Renaissance Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC. His remains will be buried in late 2022 or 2023 at Arlington National Cemetery.
