I met Lee in 1985 - I was in 8th grade and he was a much taller 7th grader. I took note of him as one of the nice guys in middle school. As we made our way through high school at Ravenscroft we both got involved in hiking. Lee was the backbone of the outdoor club with Mr. Merrill. Lee and I both worked at Outback Trading Co and I enjoyed the times we got to hang out/work. Lee was much closer with our mutual friend, Eddie, and I would enjoy the hilarious stories Eddie would tell me about Lee as we grew older. I'm a bit late to the condolences, Lee. Thinking about you. Stacy, Kyla, Delaney, Judy, and Leon. We are so very sad Lee has passed away. We will miss our son-in-law Lee very much. We remember the many great family times we enjoyed together. Lee was kind, family oriented, tender hearted, and pleasant to others. This past week we cried many times. Stacy and Lee were made for each other. They loved each other very much and enjoyed building a family together. Lee was very proud of Stacy and the girls. And Stacy was very proud of Lee and the girls. Together they reared two wonderful daughters that will be kind, good people just like they are. We are absolutely sure Lee is in heaven now and will see his Stacy, Kyla, and Delaney some day.

Lee and I were friends in high school. We took a weekend trip our junior year and hiked from the top of Roan Mountain to Elk Park on the Appalachian Trail. The hike was pretty tough and very cold. I recently hiked part of that same trail and it reminded me of that weekend. Lee was honest, calm and trustworthy.

Leon, Judy, Stacy and girls, my heart goes out to you.. I have no words of wisdom, but May God hold you in his hands and comfort you. In case I don't make it there, it's because Jimmy had heart surgery 8-19, and we're still coping. You've always been my favorite cousin, and always will be. Joanne Sanderson Lasseter

Though I've only recently met Lee -- the first time while visiting his Aunt Pat two years ago and then again at her funeral last November -- he touched my heart with his gentleness and kindness. Shortly after we returned home from Pat's funeral we received the most lovely note in the mail from Lee, encouraging Dan and I as parents and mentioning that he was happy to meet our daughters. He had nothing but kind and encouraging things to say about them. We were so touched by his thoughtfulness in reaching out to us. He truly "walked the walk" of a man of faith. Like his Aunt Pat before him, he seemed to exude the sweet fragrance of a strong and solid faith in Jesus and touched so many -- like my family -- with his kindness. I am so sorry that such a good and gracious man has departed this world way too soon. May his legacy of character, integrity and kindness comfort and enrich the lives of those he loved and who loved him so dearly. I knew Lee many years ago when we were both on the swim team at Fairfax Hills. Lee was an excellent swimmer. I particularly remember him being great at breaststroke. We shared many good times at the pool, swim meets and the end of summer trips to Busch Gardens. Lee was always happy with a smile on his face. Although we had not seen in each other in many years, we ran into each other in Goldsboro a few years ago and chatted for a good while. Lee proudly talked about his daughters and family and about working for Caterpillar. I will always treasure the good times we had at Fairfax Hills. Go rest high on that mountain my friend. I first met Lee when I was a junior in high school. We worked together at Outback Trading Company. We became good friends while working together and took numerous trips to the mountains to go backpacking together. We spent a lot of time together in the woods. I have very fond memories of our time together doing what we both loved dearly. I'm sorry that over time we drifted apart. I will always have very fond memories of Lee and will be praying for his wife and kids. RIP old friend!
