Leo Robert Klohr died May 24, 2016 at his home. Leo was born May 5, 1932 in Overland, MO, the first of two children of the late Edwin Richard and Ruth Pricilla (Hamilton) Klohr. He spent his childhood in Illinois. In 1952 to 1956 he was in the U.S. Navy stationed in New Mexico. He was employed by IBM from 1957 to 1994 and moved to several cities during his work there. He also loved being on the board of the Peace Booth at the NC State Fair, The United Nations Association of Wake County, First Wednesdays (a monthly peace vigil on Fayetteville Street) and Lutheran Peace Fellowship. He was also a member of Peace Action and participated with Moral Mondays. He and Judy were honored by receiving the Carolyn and Cy King Peace and Justice Award at Community United Church of Christ in 2015.

Leo was predeceased by his parents, a brother-in-law Dale and granddaughter Candace. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Judy Occhetti-Klohr, their five children: Denise McElveen (Mike), Elizabeth Frye (Ricky) , Jeniffer Klohr-Moore (Andy), Aimee Occhetti, Armand Occhetti Jr. (Brenda), 5 grandchildren and 5 great grand children, his sister Janet Newmann and several nieces and nephews. Family was his first priority and he loved gatherings at their home.

While I didn't know Leo personally, I do know his daughters. And I know he is an incredible man, because the daughters he raised are absolutely beautiful women. Thank you Leo. God bless your family and forever looking down on your precious gifts. Roxanne

I will always remember how quickly you and Judy accepted me into your family and entrusted Me with Noah. If only there were more people like you in this world, it would be a far better place. Love you forever.
