Obituary For KyNam "Keith" Huu Nguyen

KyNam "Keith" Nguyen went home with the Lord early in the morning of May 11, 2022 surrounded by his family and loved ones at Duke Hospital. His battle with lung cancer showed his unwavering faith in God and strength in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, KyNam came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

He was a devoted son, loving husband, caring father, uncle and friend. He was born on December 27, 1966 in Saigon, Vietnam, and his family immigrated by boat to Pennsylvania after the Vietnam War in 1975. He went to college at Drexel University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

KyNam met the love of his life, MyDung, during their college years in Philadelphia. It was love at first sight and together they have three wonderful children: Amanda and her husband Nathan, Alex, and Adam. He worked at Merck as a process engineer for over 20 years and eventually became an Associate Director in Global Engineering Solutions. His work moved him and his family to North Carolina to help start a new manufacturing plant in 2006.

At the Vietnamese Evangelical Church of Raleigh, he was committed to serving the Lord as a deacon, where his passion was leading the youth group by teaching Sunday school, directing handbell and acapella choirs, and praising on the worship team. He proudly supported the growth of the youth group into the new Kingdom Fellowship Ministry. In his leisure, he loved travel and cruising, playing candy crush, watching movies and k-dramas with his children, having morning coffee with his wife, tending to his koi pond, and perfecting his backyard paradise.

KyNam's faith inspired all those around him and his legacy will continue on in the next generation of disciples that he loved and led. A Viewing and Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11AM at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 7600 Falls of Neuse Rd. Raleigh, NC 27615.
