It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kevin John Dignan, who left us unexpectedly on August 25, 2024, while vacationing in San Diego, California.

Kevin was born on December 29, 1999, to his loving parents, John and Mercedes Dignan. He was their cherished only child and brought immense joy and pride to their lives. Kevin grew up with a strong sense of family and was always known for his kind heart, quick wit, and infectious smile.

A proud graduate of North Carolina State University, Kevin was well-loved by his peers and professors. His time at NC State was marked by his enthusiasm for learning, his involvement in campus activities, and he was well known for his role as campus Vice President of Sigma Nu Fraternity. His commitment to excellence and genuine interest in others made him a beloved member of the NC State community.

Kevin pursued a successful career in medical software sales, a field in which he excelled due to his natural talent for communication and his passion for making a positive impact. He had recently relocated to Austin, Texas, where he was eagerly embracing new opportunities and challenges.

Kevin’s interests extended beyond his professional life. He had a deep love for the outdoors and was always up for an adventure.

Kevin's legacy is one of joy, compassion, and an adventurous spirit. He will be remembered for his ability to make everyone feel valued, his dedication to his work, and his love for his family and friends. Kevin's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, John and Mercedes, Kevin is survived by his extended family and countless friends who were like family to him. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire us all.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Renaissance Funeral Home located at 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Kevin's life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 4:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kevin’s honor to Boys Town, a charity organization that has a 100 year history of giving hope to at-risk and struggling children.

Mr and Mrs Dignan, me and my family are terribly sorry for your loss. I saw Kevin as an older brother growing up and me and my parents loved him like one of our own. This loss was very unexpected, and has taken a toll on all of us. As always, if you need anything, we are here for you guys. Kevin and I had countless memories growing up, and I'll never forget those times. He introduced me to a ton of his friends, and was always able to make the whole room laugh. Kevin indirectly taught me many things about life that I will never forget about, and was a great role model for me growing up. Thank you guys for always being such great friends to our family, and allowing Kevin and I to share those times when we were younger. Rest in peace to a lifelong friend.

John and Mercedes, The Bowker family has been very upset since we learned about Kevin's passing Sunday morning. He was one of a kind, and we cherish the memories of him being at our house during his high school years. He was an important friend to both Dane and Demi, as well as one of our favorites to have over. Much love and respect as you navigate this difficult time. Marti Bowker Smith

I knew Kevin in high school and he was always the type of person who you wanted to be around. More often than not, he had a smile on his face and was quick to share his humor and joy with those around him. Throughout college and as we entered the working world, I looked up to him as someone who had life figured out. He seemed to have a passion for living his life the way he wanted to, and actively pursued opportunities to challenge himself with new and exciting experiences. He will be greatly missed by so many people who were lucky enough to know him. I send my deepest condolences to his family and close friends.
