There are so many of us who cannot forget the laughter and joy that Kevin brought to us daily. Many of us who worked in Montgomery County Public Schools and many who still do remember him as a great person who loved the profession and worked well with students, staff and the community. He will be missed. God Bless his family! I miss my friend. Henry R. Johnson, Jr. Maryland State Department of Education

Kevin was a great guy and leader here in Houston. He worked to make a difference and accomplished that goal with school leaders, district personnel, and made friends along the way. What a great guy with a great personality. Gone too soon, but God had other plans. You will be missed!

Kevin and I started our first day of school together in MCPS at Takoma Park Middle School as English teachers. He made every day so much fun for our little newbie crew of fresh faced excited and scared new teachers. From wondering what we were going to teach each day, focusing more on the food at PD sessions than the training, and for always treating everyone like they were important. That southern accent and those wonderful stories brightened many days throughout the years. I am very fortunate to have known him.

Kevin was with me when my brother didn't return from duck hunting and helped us look for him all night. He then helped me figure out what to say at the funeral. There was never a time when Kevin wasn't a great friend. He was one of the few people I've ever known whose opinion really mattered to me. Even if I didn't always agree with him, his opinion on something mattered. The world is not a better place without you Kevin.

Kevin was my "boss" for the year he spent in CMS. He always had full faith in me which helped build my own confidence level. I knew he respected me, my thoughts and my opinions. I am thankful to have known him and worked with him. Kevin, you and your family are in my prayers.

Reba this poem seems so timely now. My heart goes out to you! Poetry - Edgar Guest - I`ll lend you for a little time, a child of mine, He said. For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three. But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He`ll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief, You`ll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn. I`ve looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true And from the throngs that crowd life`s lanes, I have selected you. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain, Nor hate me when I come to call, to take him back again? I fancied that I heard them say, Dear Lord, Thy will be done. For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we`ll run. We`ll shelter him with tenderness, we`ll love him while we may; And for the happiness we`ve known, will ever grateful stay. But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we planned, We`ll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.

Kevin was Principal here at Watkins Mill for several years. Kevin's constant kindness and calm demeanor, was forever evident with everyone and everything he did. He LOVED his family, and often spoke of them with such love. We would share stories with each other, and what ALWAYS made him smile... was his nieces. Please share with them just how much Uncle Kev loved them!! Kevin was not one to do too much outside of the normal "BOX" as they say, but, I have 2 memories to share. One Halloween, he walked around school with this fake - very big handle bar type mustache..... It was really funny! He wore it for at least 1/2 a day! ( That was good for him). And the other time, was after school one day, he was walking around the school, and came upon this group of boys that were break dancing.... and Yup, he got in the circle and giggled and wiggled with the best of them!! We all had a really good laugh. He had a wonderful way of talking with kids, making them feel at ease; complementing them, and encouraging them! He took his gifts from all of us way too soon in life. My thoughts and prayers are with his mother and family! Please know how much he made a difference in so many lives! He was a very good friend. I am deeply sadden of his passing. I will forever smile when I think of Kevin. Claudia Jacobson
