Working with Ken at Sprint made be a better employee. Although at times I thought he was a task master. Later in my career I soon realized in my management position that Ken had prepared me well. Ken was a good boss, friend, and supporter. Although I didn't see him in his latter yeas I will never forget the many wonderful memories of our Sprint days.

Ken hired me and was an excellent manager, I know this because I tested his patience a few times. He impressed me immensely with his courage and determination to excel at work especially with his health issues. Also, he was kind enough to share and mentor me concerning work and personal issues. I will miss him.

I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I know he has been battling his disease for a very long time. Ken was the person who hired me at SIPS in 1995 as his secretary. He was the one that gave me that foot in the door and the opportunity to change my career. It was a pleasure working for him and he will be missed.

Diane and I met Ken in our church sponsored cancer support group shortly after Ken was diagnosed with his disease. Ken had been told that his disease could not be cured and his time was limited. While in the group, Ken became a very strong individual, learned that hugs to sick people are important and became one of the most positive and supportive people in our group. He helped many newly diagnosed patients to cope with the bad news and gave them strength and hope for the future. I truly believe that Ken's positive mental attitude and desire to live helped him beat the odds to live another 18 years. I can see the big guy now in heaven with no more pain and suffering, hugging strangers and helping others. Ken became one of my heroes. Even though he didn't like the changes in his condition, Ken learned to accept his new normal. God bless you Ken and your family. Love, Dean and Diane Lamont Raleigh, N.C.
