Obituary For Kathleen Marie Azzi

Kathleen (Baum) Azzi, 60, died peacefully at home on May 26, 2016 after living with ALS for a year. Born in West Springfield, MA. She was a graduate of WSHS (74) and UMass, Amherst (81), with a degree in Marketing/Management. She moved to Apex, NC in 1988. She leaves behind her loving husband, Anthony; two loving daughters, Nicole Stewart and her husband, Les, and Sara Steffen and her husband, Brent; a stepson, Nikolas Azzi, and his wife, Shannon; and two grandchildren, Evan Baum Stewart and Liza Rose Stewart.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 4pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the chapel at Renaissance Funeral home located at 7615 Six Forks Road in Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made for ALS research to the ALS, Jim Catfish Hunter Chapter, 4 N Blount Street #200, Raleigh, NC, 27601 or to your local food banks. The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is located at 3808 Tarheel Dr, Raleigh, NC, 27609.

Dear Dr. Azzi: My fondest memory of Kathleen was her funny wit! The best advice Kathleen ever gave me was to always hit the "SAVE" when working with a document. I still do it everyday and often think often on her advice. Dr. Azzi, "SAVE" her memory in your heart. She will always be with you until you see her again. My thoughts and prayers are with you! May God keep & you close! Peace Kathleen! With Deepest Sympathy, Pat Patterson
