Obituary For Judith E. Arthur
Judith E. Arthur, 91, was a woman of deep faith, unwavering devotion to her family, and remarkable artistic talent. Born on April 23, 1933, she dedicated her life to caring for her loved ones, always placing family first. She spent her years selflessly nurturing her three children, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, sharing her warmth, wisdom, and strong Christian values with each new generation.
Beyond her role as a matriarch, Judith was a passionate artist and teacher. Inspired by her mother, she developed a love for painting early in life, eventually becoming an accomplished watercolorist. Her talent led her to exhibit in several prestigious shows, including a monthlong feature at the Kokomo Chamber of Commerce Art Show in 1986 and a joint exhibit with her grandson at the Kokomo Fine Arts Center in 1996. She was an active member of the Lahaina Arts Society, participated in numerous juried competitions, and received multiple awards for her exceptional work.
Judith found her greatest joy in sharing her artistic gifts with others. Whether she was teaching watercolor classes in Indiana and Maui, guiding friends and family in their own creative journeys, or simply encouraging others to embrace art, she made everyone feel like an artist. Her love for teaching was an extension of her kindness and generosity, a way for her to bring people together and help them see the world through a more colorful and beautiful lens.
Her faith remained the foundation of her life, shaping the way she loved, served, and inspired those around her. She believed that creativity was a reflection of God’s beauty and grace, and she used her gifts to bring joy to others. Judith also found deep fulfillment in her church community, where she loved leading and attending the Young at Heart Bible study for nearly twenty years. These gatherings brought her great joy, allowing her to share fellowship, wisdom, and a deep love for God’s word with those around her.
After thirty years apart, Judith has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of forty-two years, Jack, and now they walk in the presence of their Savior together. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on through her family, her students, and all who were blessed by her love and encouragement. Her faith, kindness, and artistry continue to inspire, and we take comfort in knowing she now paints with heavenly colors, in a place where beauty never fades and love never ends.
"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
