Obituary For Joseph Daniel Baglio

Joseph Daniel Baglio, 26, of Raleigh, NC died unexpectedly after surgery on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was born June 15, 1995, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to Michael and Juli Baglio. Joe attended schools in Andover, MA where he graduated high school. He was an entrepreneur at a young age. After high school Joe attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Journalism. He went on to attend the prestigious UNC Kenan–Flagler Business School where he received a Master of Accounting degree. While at UNC Chapel Hill, Joe played hockey and served as the President of the UNC Hockey Team. After completing his degrees, he began his career as a Corporate Credit Risk Analyst at Credit Suisse and then as a Global Procurement and Supplier Credit Risk Analyst at Pepsi. Joe had just accepted a job as a Solution Consultant for NetSuite. Joe had many passions. These included all things hockey - playing, watching (especially the Bruins), and memorabilia; being at home, spending time with his family; and attending church at Summit Church with his parents. He also loved to draw and had many followers on Instagram for the art he would create. Joe was a dog lover. So much so that while in high school he started a business caring for dogs called Puppy Pals. His childhood companion, Sierra, was the inspiration for his business. He used this dog whispering gift to train the new family dog, Lucy. Later, he adopted a new companion, a cat who he fondly named Kitty.

Joe liked to spend time with friends also. He had recently joined two Summit small groups. His favorite events were the breakfasts and get-togethers with his friends.

Joe had a big heart. He would visit people and do errands for others that had limited mobility and resources. He would befriend and talk to anyone.

Joe is survived by his parents, Michael and Juli of Raleigh, NC; his three siblings, David (Amber) of Raleigh, NC, Mike Jr (Lauren) of Rockledge, FL, and Shayna Riggs (Roy) of Wake Forest, NC; six nieces, Ava, Mia, Emma, Selah, Ryah, Mila; five aunts, Sandra Galvin, Debra Beninati, Melissa Baglio, Joanne O’Brien, and Jennifer Smith; four uncles, Stephen Beninati, James Baglio, Bob O’Brien, Brian Smith; and many cousins and friends.

My sincere condolences to the family. Joe was one of the nicest, kindest, most friendly young men I have ever known. It was always a pleasure to hear bag telling the hockey families in Andover this story AND that joke AND another interesting tale AND, and and. His joyfulness and love for all of his friends will surely live on in the hearts of everyone he touched. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. My family loved him and count ourselves lucky to have known him and to have shared a few years in his hockey family.

Joe and I were buddies from the gym. He had an awesome personality and came up to me on day because i was wearing a credit suisse shirt and at the time he was working there as well. Ever since that we became friends and worked out together from time to time. He was such a nice guy always taking the time out to come talk to me and ask how my day/life was going. Truly an honor to know him and my deepest condolences go out to his loved ones. I will be sure to keep you all in my prayers.

Mike and Juli - this is just heartbreaking. I think I can speak for all of Mike's hockey buddies, many of whom also play/ed a role in raising hockey player sons, how tragic and sad this must be for you and your family. I was fortunate to have met Joe a few years ago at some holiday pick-up game. He was good!! And a very polite and good natured young man. On behalf of all of us on Gunga La Gunga, our deepest condolences to everyone in the extended Baglio family.
