Obituary For Joseph Charles Hinton

Joseph Charles Hinton, 90, went peacefully home Thursday, May 14, 2015. Born April 20, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he was the only child of Joseph and Emmy Hinton.

Joe graduated from Washington High School in 1943, and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII. He worked for Western Iron Stores where he met his future bride, Joyce Reinert. He later took a job with Schrader which brought the family to North Carolina. In addition to enjoying fishing, hunting and listening to music, Joe was a tinkerer - being most happy when he was working on a “project”. He built a house boat in the driveway of his home and the family spent many happy hours at Kerr Lake on the boat. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time at “Joe’s Place” his backyard workshop making anything and everything just a little bit better.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joyce Mae Hinton, daughter Gail L. Machilek and her husband Rudi. Grandchildren Rudolf Joseph Machilek and Heather Machilek Ange (Wesley) and great grand children Bennett Elizabeth Ange and Landon Kenan Ange - all of Raleigh, NC.

The family would like to thank the staff at Reminiscence - Sunrise at North Hills for watching over Joe for the past several years.

Memorial services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Rd Raleigh NC. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Condolences: rfhr.com

Joyce, There are so many memories that stir my heart; the most outstanding was the day we met. Who would have thought 4 people so far apart in distance would meet and remain friends for 46 years that followed. Why not? Even then, though unknown to us, we were doing the same thing. Great minds - four spirits knew. I love you, dear friend. Jan James
