Joriearl Kurt Grant, 20, of Raleigh, NC, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2020. He was born in Arecibo, PR, on July 22, 1999. Son of Yolanda Nieves and the late Earl Grant.

Joriearl went to school in the Wake Country Public School System, graduating from Leesville High School in June 2017. He was an avid skater. You could always find him on his skateboard at one of the parks around the area. He loved the beach. Born on an island, he could spend all day at the beach. He had a passion for music, writing multiple poems and songs. Taco Bell was one of his loves, but nothing compared to his mom's cooking.

Though he was a huge Patriots fan, yelling at the TV against his brother's team during games, he enjoyed playing basketball.

Joriearl is preceded in death by his father, Earl Grant.

He is survived by his mother, by his Stepfather Dennis, brother and sister in law, Hector and Sara, and by his two nephews, Harrison and Sebastian, of Raleigh NC. He is also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, godmother, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Due to the current pandemic, the service will be small and reserved only for close family.
