Jordan Ray Manickam, beloved son, brother, Navy SEAL, and passionate outdoorsman, passed away on June 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and dedication. Jordan was born on February 28, 1989, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to Jean and John Manickam.
From a young age, Jordan displayed an unwavering determination and a zest for life. He graduated from Millbrook High School, where he showcased his athleticism (wrestling and football) and his love for music. Eager to pursue higher education, Jordan embarked on a journey that led him to the University of North Carolina and then earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Operations at University of Charleston. Furthering his educational pursuits he had commenced his studies for Masters program - a testament to his dedication and thirst for knowledge.
In 2010, Jordan made a selfless decision to serve his country and joined the Navy. He demonstrated exceptional courage, resilience, and leadership, earning the honor of becoming a Navy SEAL. During his distinguished military career, Jordan's unwavering commitment to duty took him to bases in California, Virginia, Florida and Hawaii, where he fearlessly embraced the challenges of protecting and defending his nation.
In 2020, after a decade of devoted service, Jordan retired from the Navy SEALs, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of bravery and camaraderie. Transitioning to civilian life, he channeled his exceptional organizational skills and passion for helping others into his role as the Warehouse Manager at Amazon and as Operations Manager and Secretary of the Bonefrog Foundation at Harvest Connect LLC in Georgia. Jordan's dedication to making a positive impact extended beyond his military service, as he actively worked to support and uplift his fellow veterans.
Jordan's diverse passions enriched his life and brought him joy. He had an insatiable curiosity for ecology, finding solace in the study of the Earth's wonders. Jordan had an innate love for all animals, cherishing their presence and advocating for their well-being. Music was another outlet where Jordan found solace. He shared his love for music through his talented playing of violin, cello, and percussion that brought joy to many.
Jordan's family was the cornerstone of his life, and his love for them knew no bounds. He is survived by his devoted parents, Jean and John Manickam, his cherished sister, Zoe, and his beloved twin brother, Theo, who served as Pilot in the United States Marine Corps. Their inseparable bond of love and support will forever endure.
