John Paul Sajda, Jr., 83, passed away on January 27, 2016 at Springmoor Retirement Community in Raleigh.

John was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He married Joan (Sentman) Sajda November 10, 1956 and they moved to Bellmawr, NJ. She passed away June 4, 1987. He is a Naval veteran serving mainly on the USS Maurice J. Manuel. He served from 1951 to 1956 and was in the reserves until 1959. He then was employed by the Defense Logistics Agency, Medical Directorate for the Federal Government and retired from there in 1987. He retired to Ocean City, NJ.

He married Carla Kadlec Sajda on October 15, 1994 and moved to Cary, NC. He moved to Springmoor LCRC in October 2014 and was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife Carla Sajda. The beloved father of Anne Marie (Edward) Stefankiewicz, Amy Sajda, and stepfather of Charles (Lorraine) Glaum, and Sheryl (Doug) Mayle. He was the loving grandfather of Lisa (Jason) Sparks, Edward Stefankiewicz, and Robert Stefankiewicz and step grandfather to Victoria Clark, Danielle Smith, Michael, and David Glaum. He is the proud great-grandfather to Aubrey, Hanna, Corie, Natalie, Donovan, Tyler and Jacob.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Anna (Schiller) Sajda, Sr., sister Arlene O’Donnell, and wife Joan M. Sajda.

The funeral mass will take place Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 12333 Bayleaf Church Rd., Raleigh, NC 27614 at 10 AM. The family will receive guests following the service.
