John L. Lawrence, 90, died 30 November 2016 at The Rosewood Health Center at the Cypress of Raleigh. He was born 23 November 1926 in Asheboro, North Carolina to Emmett and Louise (Whatley) Lawrence. John was a US Navy veteran and retired from AT & T (Bell South). He was a member of Greystone Baptist Church in Raleigh.

John was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Anne and his daughter, Linda Dansby. He is survived by daughter Carol (Carlos) Vidales; son-in-law Danny Dansby; grandchildren Carlos (Angelique) Vidales; Johanna (Christopher) Hinkle; Laura (Nan) Gao; Amie (Jason Dixon) Dansby; David (Juliette) Dansby; Ryan Dansby; great-grandchildren: Zelia, Siobhán, Paul, Evie, Andrew, Avery, Isaac, Sage and Cole.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at The Rosewood and special family friend, Lynda Collier, for their love and support for John and Carol.

A private burial service will be held Friday, 2 December, at Raleigh Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at The Rosewood.
