Obituary For Jerry Travis Roberts

Jerry Travis Roberts died on July 3rd, 2016. He was born in Granite Falls N.C. to the late Everette E. Roberts and Bonnie Travis Roberts.

He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Roberts Annas.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda W. Roberts, children, Doug, Ed, Caroline and Dan, their spouses and five grandchildren.

Jerry graduated from UNC in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He started his career as a business owner and later worked at the NCTMA. From there he became the executive director of CUCA.

His greatest achievement was the strength in which he fought Parkinson’s Disease for 32 years. He never complained and maintained a sense of humor and optimism throughout it all.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 am. Sat. July 9th 2016 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Visitation will take place Friday July 8, from 5-7 pm. at Renaissance Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials be made to the Boys and Girls homes of North Carolina.

    So sorry to hear that Mr. Roberts has passed. I worked with Mr. Roberts for over a decade and he taught me so much - lessons that have helped me throughout my career.
