Service information below.

Jerry Telep, 81, of Raleigh, passed away at his home Wednesday evening, December 28, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Jerry was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Peter Telep and Jean Shargay. He was a graduate of Grosse Pointe High School and then served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1957 as a Basic Airman and played the trumpet with the 544th Air Force Band Squadron. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. He attended the University of Detroit and Detroit College of Applied Science. He went on to become an engineer and worked in this profession for several years. He owned his own construction company before retiring.

Jerry was a long time member of Saint Raphael Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was an inactive 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf, working crossword puzzles, reading books and traveling (especially to the mountains) until his health no longer permitted.
