Our beloved son, brother, father and friend, unexpectedly passed away on December 13, 2019. Jay was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on March 20, 1982 to Duncan and Teresa Welsh. Jason lived his life loving the outdoors – biking (SA Mountain Bike Champion – downhill and cross-country), fishing, four-wheeling and enjoyed a braai and beer with his family and friends. Jay was a free spirit who will be remembered for his caring, fun-loving personality and compassion for all of life and God’s creatures. His life will forever be cherished by his children, Tristan and Gavin, and his loving family.
A Memorial Service will be held at Renaissance Funeral Home of Raleigh on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. Please join us in the celebration of his life.

Ill forever miss your smile. I knew I could always call you if I ever needed anything. Thank you for making me feel so protected whenever we went out anywhere. You were my bodyguard and the most loving human I have ever gotten the pleasure of knowing. I will miss you forever and I will never ever forget your most precious personality. Thank you for showing me how to cook the most delicious food. Anytime I cook on the blackstone griddle, I will forever think of you. Love you more than ever. Thank you for being you.
With so much love,
Your Mandy:heart:

You were like my little brother in so many ways and over the last 17 years I thought of you as my brother. Now, like my brother, you will walk beside the Lord. I will miss our talks and always cherish all of the great memories. Rest easy my'man. You and your family will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. Love you brother!

Jason was always a fun loving spirit. I remember during a holiday he brought over some milk pie his mom made. He always had a smile and loved his family very much. He will be missed. May condolences to his family. :broken_heart:

To the Welsh Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Jason was such an awesome guy. Your family has always brought me such wonderful memories. Jason was such an amazing guy and always bought such amazing color to a room. His personality was contagious and you could not stay upset for long because he would fix it by making you laugh or feel silly. He was so deeply loved and he will be missed. My love to all the family during this difficult time.

I'm so truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Jason at Autopark Jeep many years ago and always enjoyed his humor and big personality. I will always remember his love for VW GTI's and our fun rides. I was proud to see him open his own shop in Angier. Such a great guy and I know he will be missed dearly by his close friends and family. Rest in peace brother. May God bless your family and friends with peace and fantastic memories.

I cant wrap my head around any of this! Jason is one of the most hilarious people Ive ever met. Jason, aka The African was always the light and entertainment of any room he entered. I have more memories of me in curled over laughing than I do of regular conversation. Brotha I am saddened that you left us but Ill never let the memory of you fade.
