Obituary For James LaRue Witt IV

James LaRue Witt IV 12/15/1986 - 02/28/2021

With deepest sorrow, we announce that James “Jimmy” LaRue Witt IV, age 34 our most beloved son, brother, life partner and friend left this world suddenly on February 28, 2021.

Jimmy will be missed everyday by his mother, Patricia Witt, his father, James Witt, sister and husband, Brittany and Chris Priddy, partner in life, Erin Dalpe, and her family, niece, Madeline Priddy, nephew, Foster Priddy, his two loving Aunts, Uncle and many great friends.

Jimmy was kind-hearted and caring. He was a self-proclaimed “foodie” who loved animals, traveling and the opportunity to meet new people. He found great joy in small everyday things. He had a laugh that was contagious and a smile that could brighten any room.

We take comfort in knowing Jimmy is now with his grandparents, Jean and Bruce Reed, grandmother, Mary Frances Witt, Charlie, his favorite dog. Jimmy is loved here on Earth as well as in heaven.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held in Jimmy’s honor for family and close friends in Hilton Head, SC. In remembrance of Jimmy’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to https://gofund.me/2b0f38cb to help with funeral expenses. Any additional donations after funeral expenses will be donated in Jimmy’s name to SPCA of Wake County and East Carolina University. Both causes were very near and dear to Jimmy’s heart.

Condolences

Mrs. Pat, Mr. James, Brittany, and everyone else who's lives were graced with Jimmy's presence...my deepest condolences to you all. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew what a lovable, goofy, and infectiously happy person he was. He always knew how to make us laugh, and he always knew how to show us how any sport he tackled was supposed to be done. He always knew how to push us to be our best and shoot for the moon. My favorite memory is staying the night when we were in middle/high school and hearing him call out to his bestest friend Mia. It was as if they had their own language. I have one of his lumberton soccer jerseys that I would love to donate back to the family if you all want. Rest In Peace Jim. -Ryan V.

Our son, Scott, called tonight to tell us of Jimmy's passing. Scott remembered walking to his grandmother's house after school each day (Aycock Middle School) with Jimmy. They would dress for soccer practice and I would pick them up and bring them to practice. I pass by your old house in Brittany Ridge when I walk now and think happy thoughts of our family's friendship with yours. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Ellen and Bob Hilgoe Greenville, NC
