Engaged in many civic, religious and charitable causes, he was a leader as Past Grand Knight, Father Thomas Price Council of the Knights of Columbus, Raleigh. Never the shy one, he took great pleasure in marching in the annual St. Patrick’s Day and Christmas parades in town. Jim enjoyed spending time down at the coast and cherished the role of grandpa to his grandchildren. He was visible at numerous soccer games, school functions and the like. In his retirement, he and his wife, Mitzie, traveled extensively cruising around the world and in particular, spending time in their beloved Ireland.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Marie (nee Flora); his son, David; and his wife, Madelyne (Mitzie) McGowan; as well as his brothers and sisters.
