Obituary For James Anthony Kofalt
James Anthony Kofalt, 79, passed away on February 4, 2022 at home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born and grew up in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to parents, Joseph and Rose Kofalt. He is survived by his two brothers, Bob and Bill. Throughout his youth, Jim excelled at both academics and sports, ultimately earning an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played offensive guard for the Black Knights Football Team. Jim graduated in 1964 and went on to serve two tours in Vietnam and one in Germany.
Following his military service, Jim had a successful career as an executive in the cable television industry, culminating in his appointment as Chief Operating Officer at Cablevision.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Jim Jr. and Rita; and four grandchildren who loved him beyond words. Throughout his life, Jim held fast to his roots, his faith, his family and friends…and of course, his love of country and West Point football.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 8 at 2:30pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. For those who cannot attend in person, the service will be livestreamed at the following link: Memorial Mass for James Anthony Kofalt
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Tiger Pause, a Christian ministry serving youth and community in Jim’s home town of Beaver Falls.
