Obituary For Isabella Clara Huppert Lovell
Isabella Clara Huppert Lovell, was born on June 14, 1919, in Mequon, WI, and grew up on her family’s farm on the shores of Lake Michigan. One of four children, Isabella lost her mother when she was just 13 years old. She often talked about her mother, Mathilda, and the treasured memories she had of her. Isabella helped her father, Henry, on the farm and to raise her younger siblings. She met her husband and best friend, Richard, at a dance that she attended with her sister, Lucille, in 1941. After they were married, Richard served in France as part of the U.S. Army for three years. When he returned from the war, Richard and Isabella and their children lived in Wisconsin for a time before moving to Orlando, FL in 1955, with Richard’s twin brother and his family. Richard and Isabella were devoted to one another and not only raised a family together but worked together. After 27 years apart, Isabella is now reunited with Richard in heaven. Isabella passed away peacefully on March 14, 2015, in Raleigh, NC surrounded by her family.
Isabella was a beautiful woman. She lived her life with a strength of character and spirit, kindness, selflessness and humility that was exemplary. She touched the lives of everyone around her without even trying and will be greatly missed. Isabella enjoyed the outdoors and the sunshine. She would have loved the warm sunny days of Spring. She was very independent and active, refused to use a walker, and even at 95 years of age, walked in the neighborhood as weather permitted. Isabella was a great baker, and taught her granddaughter everything she needed to know. Isabella loved animals and enjoyed feeding the ducks and little brown birds. She loved God and was a faithful follower of Christ for her entire life. Isabella treasured her family and especially enjoyed the times she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Mathilda Freihammer Huppert and her husband Richard Llewellyn Lovell; her beloved sister Lucille Huppert Peri; brothers Andrew and Alphonse Huppert. She is survived by: her daughter Kathleen Lovell Gaston (Michael) and son Douglas D. Lovell (Cherie); grandchildren, Stephanie Gaston Poley (Jeffrey), Alison Lovell VanZant (Jeffrey), and Jason Lovell (Anne); great grandchildren Brice, Cailey, Ansley and Reese VanZant, and Wyatt and April Lovell; nieces, Annette Peri Alatalo, Lynne Huppert Braun, Perri Lovell Kranzdorf, and Gayle Lovell Greathouse; nephews Dr. John Peri, Dr. James Peri, and Roger Lovell.
