Helen Katherine Las was born in Passaic, New Jersey on August 14, 1916 and passed away on December 8, 2019 at the age of 103 years in Raleigh, NC.

Helen was a machine operator in New Jersey for 30 years before retiring and eventually relocating to North Carolina. She enjoyed cooking and loved to do crafts, especially knitting and making rugs.

Helen was the daughter of the late Almon Burgess and Margaret Ellen Jones Burgess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Las and her son, Walter R. Las. She was one of twelve children and is survived by her sister, Joan and her brother, Gilbert, both of New Jersey. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Laraine Brower (William H.) of Raleigh and her grandchildren, Lauren Noble (Robert), William T. (Lucy) and Kimberly Hutchens (Kevin).

She was also fortunate to have many more grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by her family.
