Our dear Ella had been a true friend to me and wife Linda. She once dined at the Imperial Garden restaurant late last year where she surprised me with a friend as I play the piano nightly. She looked so pale and weak and as if was saying goodbye only to know that she would go home to eternity withing the next few months. Our deepest sympathy goes to the Chernega Family... So sad to hear of Ellas passing. Mother is 96, but does not understand much that we tell her. She loved Ella and had so many great memories of being friends with her. Peace be with your family, Carolyn Dew Gruensfelder

Celia and I are so very sorry to hear of Mrs. Chernega's passing. She was such a kind and gracious lady. She was one of the first people to welcome us to North Hills when we moved there 25 years ago and was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. She will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to know her. Our deepest sympathies, Celia and Gary Flowers

Mere words cannot express the pain and sorry I feel because of Ella's passing. We worked together in Patterson Hall at NCSU for many years and have had many opportunities to get together with friends and at her home over the years since her retirement. Even when we visited in the hospital, she was her same loving Ella. She was a very beloved friend and I will miss her deeply but she is now safe in the beloved arms of Jesus. Gale, my husband, and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family in their loss. We know that she will be sorely missed and her passing will leave a big void in your lives. Her family was a wonderful blessing to her and she loved you dearly. Love and prayers, Faye Koonce
