God welcomed Harold Heidel (76) of Raleigh, NC home on June 10, 2021 after fighting a disease that finally took him from us. Now, he is finally at peace. For the first time in 5 years he is in a better place where he is walking and able to talk again. No more pain or suffering.

He leaves behind his wife Sandra Heidel; two sons, John Heidel & his wife, Margret and Robert Heidel. He is also leaving behind three grandchildren: Audrey (Caleb), Caitlin, and Bridget Heidel. Harold also leaves behind his sister, Sandra Roslund and two brothers, Gary Heidel and Carl Heidel of Buffalo NY.

Harold worked at GM in Buffalo NY and retired from GM in Fredericksburg VA. Harold loved quiet places where he could be with his thoughts. He loved being out on his porch, in his garage, or in his computer room where he could explore the outside world from the comfort of his home. In his youth he raced cars and loved working on them. He also collected car models and coins. He was very creative with his hands and enjoyed woodworking.

He was also someone who never gave up and because of this he fought with the PSP disease till the very end. Everyone loved Harold's smile and could tell he truly enjoyed life. He will be missed by all those who knew him.

Harold's Memorial Service will be at Christian Renewal Church, Hilton Head, SC on June 19th at 11:00am.

The Celebration of Life event will be at the Rowing and Sailing Center at Squire Pope Community Park.
