Obituary For George Henry Morse

George Henry Morse, 98, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on November 4, 2023. He was the son of the late Amos Clifton Morse and Hazel Viola Kuhn. George was born August 17, 1925 in Huntington, MA. He graduated High School in Middletown, CT and later attended a technical school after serving in WWII from 1943 - 1946.

George married Phyllis Magnano on May 21, 1949 and they were married for 73 years when Phyllis passed away in January of this year. George loved to play golf and loved his Bible Study at his church. In addition to playing golf, George and his wife traveled to numerous countries around the world and also loved to square dance.

George is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his parents, and his siblings.

George is survived by his two daughters, Jacqueline Wells of Haslet, TX and Leslie (Robert) Timper of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Brian (Crystal) Wells of Chandler, AZ, Brett Wells of Fort Worth, TX, Erin (Matthew) Fries of Wake Forest, NC, Chief Matthew Timper, USN (Elyssa) stationed in Norfolk, VA, and Nicholas (Miranda) Timper of Raleigh, NC; 7 great grandchildren, Dakota Wells, Phoenix Wells, Ryland Wells, Sierra Wells, Aspen Fries, Brecken Fries, and Arabella Timper. He is also survived by Ruby Rosbach whom he loved like a daughter.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 13, 2023 at North Raleigh United Methodist Church, 8501 Honeycutt Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615. Live Stream can be viewed at www.nrumc.org/morsefuneral.
