Obituary For Garrett Griffin Hufland

It is with immense sadness and heartbreak that our family announces the sudden passing of Garrett Griffin Hufland, aged 36, of Raleigh, North Carolina, on October 23, 2023.

Garrett is survived by his loving parents, Edward Hufland and Darlene Brennan, who remember him with deep affection and fond memories. He is also survived by his brother, Peter Hufland and his wife Marlowe as well as their two daughters, Hayes and Brennan of Wake Forest, NC; sister, Katie Hufland and her two children Jacob and Callie of Wilmington, NC; and sister, Sarah Santucci and her husband Sean as well as their two daughters Brianna and Kayla of Feeding Hills, MA; two surviving uncles, Jonathan Brennan of Cocoa, FL and Bob Hufland of Delmar, NY. All who cherished the time they had with him.

Born August 10, 1987, Garrett Griffin Hufland, was nicknamed G.G. by his family at a very young age. That nickname stuck with him his whole life, with many friends adopting it as their own way to greet him. Garrett will be remembered as a fun loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was always there to provide a laugh, big hug, or a helping hand. Garrett used his helping hands over the years in many ways. From working with electronics, to general handyman services, helping neighbors, friends, and family out. If something was broken, he was right there trying to fix it. Garrett was a Crew Leader for his brother’s landscaping company for many years. Working side by side with his older brother.

Throughout Garrett’s life, he enjoyed his many hobbies. One of which involved his jeep and the beach with friends. He was always down to have fun. Whether dancing at a wedding, cooking for family and friends, or just simply enjoying his time with people that loved him, Garrett genuinely and wholeheartedly loved his family and friends.

Garrett had a strong love for his family. He wore the title of “Uncle G.G.” proudly. He was loyal. Garrett will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and his memory will continue to shine brightly.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Garrett's life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC.
