Obituary For Frederick Michael Henry
Frederick Michael Henry went home to meet the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the age of 56. He will always be remembered for his quiet strength. Fred was born on December 15, 1958 at a United States Army base in Taipei, Taiwan to Roy J. Henry and Matilde Edad Henry. Fred was raised in California, Hawaii and Germany. Fred attended Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale California. After graduating, Fred worked at some startup companies in Silicon Valley. When he was 18 years old, he met Meredith Mitchell who he married in 1981. They were happily married for 34 years. They raised three children, Holly Jean, Jesse Roy and Jonah William. Fred was a loving father and a positive example to them every day. Fred went to night school to earn his associates degree in Computer Science. Fred had a passion for computers and a real knack for helping others whether it be just teaching how to use them or trouble shooting and repairing them.
His wife Meredith often said that God gave her share of patience to Fred. Fred and his family resided in Raleigh, NC since 1991. He was kind, soft spoken and a fierce advocate for his friends and loved ones. He worked at North Carolina State University for the last two years and was very happy in his work as he was surrounded by such wonderful and special co-workers. Fred’s greatest passion was his part-time job at Personal Defense and Handgun Safety Center, where he worked part-time for over 13 years. Fred was as kind, patient and as friendly as they come. He always brightened everyone’s day that he came across.
Fred is preceded in death by his father Roy and his brother Robert. He is survived by his loving wife Meredith, his children Holly, Jesse and Jonah, his mother Matilde, his brother William and his mother-in-law Jean and by his friends and everyone else who loved him.
