Obituary For Frank Willard Weeks

Frank Willard Weeks, Jr. passed away at home on April 10, 2019. He was born in Savannah, GA on August 2, 1952 to Frank W. Weeks and Annice S. Joyner.

Frank is survived by his wife, Joan Baker Weeks; son, Brian Douglas Weeks (wife Kathryn) and grandsons, Benjamin and Booker Weeks of Wilmington, NC; sister, Sarah Godbey (husband Phil) of Savannah, GA; mother-in-law, Gerry Perry of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law, Margaret Perry (husband Scott) of Raleigh, NC; brother-in-law, John Baker of Wrightsville Beach, NC. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Frank grew up a Georgia boy and lived in Savannah, McRae, Albany, and Atlanta. After graduating from Armstrong College with a degree in Criminal Justice, he worked in law enforcement and settled in Raleigh, North Carolina where he served 25 years as a Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Upon his retirement, he and Joanie moved to Youngsville, NC to a home in the country that he affectionately referred to as Camelot.

Frank cultivated many lifelong friendships over the years through work and his varied passions. He loved working on cars, especially MGs. For several years, he could be found tinkering under his 1971 MG or hanging out for hours in his buddy Eddie May’s garage. Frank also loved playing guitar and was especially fond of the four Bs: Beatles, Blues, Buffett, and Bluegrass. He enjoyed fishing and yard work, but his favorite pastime, especially in recent years, was having a lively conversation with a good friend.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on May 5, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at Renaissance Funeral Home (7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Frank Willard Weeks to the Franklin County Emergency Medical Services (8146 NC-56, Louisburg, NC 27549) or the Youngsville Fire Department (803 Wheaton Ave, Youngsville, NC 27596)

Frank and I spent many hours in our telephone conversations discussing the past, the present and the unknown future ahead. The majority of those grand conversations were spent in the far distant days of the past which were loved so dearly by the two of us. Thoughts and memories held so dearly and for all times. Bill Muench

I had the great pleasure to work with Frank during our careers as Special Agents with the U. S. Government; and even the greater pleasure to call Frank my friend. After franks retirement I did not see him in person much but we talked on the phone a lot. Frank was always witty, and as we thought alike on most everything (95% +) we would have lengthy robust conversations. We talked about gardening, pets (cats), old acquaintances, and of course politics. Frank and I would get each other so worked up that my wife would make me go outside to talk. Frank loved to talk and was never for loss of words. I will miss Frank a lot and do not think I will ever forget the sound of his voice (Muench, this is Weeks, call me boy, I have something I need to talk to you about). We miss you Frank and I look forward to talking to you sometime in the future. God bless you Frank, your friend forever, Bill Muench.
