Frances Sauter Johnson, 80, of Raleigh, NC peacefully passed away on June 28th, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Fred D. Sauter and Caroline Buck Sauter. Francie was born on December 1, 1943, in Chicago, IL. There she attended New Trier High School and then went on to attend and graduate from Converse College with a major in English.

After college Francie or “Bobo” as many knew her, traveled and pursued a career in Administrative Bookkeeping. She was a devoted mother to her 3 children and would do anything to help others. As a lifelong outdoors enthusiast, she loved horses and riding. She loved having the sunshine on her shoulders and being at the beach with family and friends. Francie had a fierce love for dogs, she rescued and cared for many throughout her life. She also had a special adoration of pigs! She was well known for her wonderful sense of humor and candor.

In addition to her sisters, she is survived by her 2 devoted sons. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Caroline Louise Johnson. Her life will be forever cherished and remembered by her children; David Julian Johnson of Raleigh, NC; Christopher Sauter Johnson (Lisa) of Greenville, NC; her six precious grandchildren, her sister Lyn Little of Chicago, IL; Nancy Hearon of NC, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2pm. The location for the service will be St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Rd., Raleigh, NC. A visitation will follow in the fellowship hall.

Her family would like to extend a special Thank You to all her caregivers for their kind and compassionate support. We are truly grateful for Judy “Missy” Moss for her love and companionship for Francie during the entirety of her illness.
