Obituary For Evelyn Irene Beck

Evelyn Irene Beck, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2013. Evelyn was born July 19, 1923 in Bremen, Minnesota and grew up in a large loving family. She met the love of her life, Donald Joseph Beck, as a teenager and traveled to Georgia by train to marry him during his basic training days at Fort Benning. Evelyn and Donald were married for 62 years and were each other's best friends and role models for their children and grandchildren. Evelyn was a homemaker and a creative, involved mother who brought light, laughter, and joy to all who knew her. Evelyn was an active member of St. Raphaelâ??s Church Guild Five where she made many life long friends including Eleanor, Dorothy, Lillian, Phyllis, and Joyce. She is remembered with great fondness for the many parties and celebrations that she hosted. She loved to read, listen to music, garden, and craft, but she enjoyed most being with family and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Joseph; daughter, Cynthia Ann; son, Donald George; and her grandson, Thomas Joseph (TJ). She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Beck, and his wife, Robin of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; daughter, Lynne M. Beck of Raleigh; daughter, Laurie J. Beck of Greenville; granddaughter, Melissa L. Beck of Greenfield, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Jennifer A. Beck of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; sister, June Leanna of Greenfield, Wisconsin; brother, Eugene Gerard, and his wife, Marion, of Moose Lake, Minnesota; sister, Donna Meyer and her husband, Glenn of Springfield, Illinois; sister-in-law, June Gerard; sister-in-law, Kathy Joseph and her husband, Walt; and brother-in-law, George Beck. She also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as many special friends. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers: Sandra, Jona and Lisa for making Evelynâ??s final days so peaceful. The family will receive friends January 14, Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road Raleigh, NC. The funeral will take place on January 15, Tuesday, 11:00 AM at St. Raphael, the Archangel Catholic Church 5801 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh NC followed immediately by an interment at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the SPCA of Wake County or Hospice of Wake County.

    I am sorry for your loss. The bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3,4...states: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". Very soon, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death.

    Sorry to hear about the loss of Evelyn. She made me a Santa Clause Christmas decoration when I was secretary to Mr. Beck and I am still using it every Christmas. She was a nice lady. Evelyn Maye
