Evelyn Call Evans was born at home to John Herman Call and Maude Lee Joiner in Barlow KY on October 18, 1921. She passed into eternity on October 24, 2017 at the age of 96.

She married James Brainerd Evans in 1945 just before he shipped to the Pacific Theater. Once he came home they started their family. She is survived by her children James (Jane) Evans, grandchildren James Thomas (Karen) Evans and Virginia Evans; Tim (Harriette) Evans and grandchildren Jonathan (Ashley) Evans and Joanne (Jacob) Sahms, daughter Martha Dorroh and grandson Jimmy (Beth), and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and son Charlie.

Mom loved being a wife and mother. She loved to cook and was known for her pies and biscuits. She loved the mountains around Boone NC and old time country music. Her favorite food was Knoth’s Kentucky Barbecue. Services will be held on Saturday October 28 at 11am at Ridge Road Baptist Church. The family will receive guests in the sanctuary from 10-10:45. A private interment will follow immediately after the service.
