Obituary For Eugene "Gene" Madlon

Eugene (Gene) was born in Ferdinand Indiana. He was the son of Edward Madlon and Mary (Remke). Gene enlisted in the Navy during World War II and was sent to Duke University to study Electrical Engineering under the V12 Program. He graduated in 1947 and joined the IBM Corporation. Gene worked at IBM locations in Owego, NY, Endicott, NY, East Fishkill, NY, and completed his forty two and a half years as Project Manager in Armonk NY. He was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Duke Electrical Engineering Alumni. Gene and his wife lived in LaGrangeville, NY prior to retiring to Raleigh in 1989. Gene is survived by his wife, Mary (Aliotta, Ranieri) Madlon. Gene is also survived by his children: Elizabeth McGee and her husband, Jerry of Weatherford, TX; Diane Madlon-Kay and her husband, Richard of Minneapolis, MN; Edward and his wife, Rosemary Pugliese of Raleigh, NC; Janice Miller and her husband, Daniel of Hyde Park, NY; Paul Yamagata-Madlon and his wife, Tomoe of Japan; and his son-in law, Robert Moisuk of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Tom Moisuk and his wife, Anne of San Diego, CA; Karen Moisuk of Lanesboro, MA; Aaron Madlon-Kay of Japan, Seth Madlon-Kay of New York City, NY, Zachary and Rebecca Miller of Hyde Park, NY, and Andrew and Brian Madlon of Raleigh, NC; step children, James J. Ranieri Jr. and his wife, Fran of Raleigh, NC, Angela Kochart and her husband, John of Schertz, TX; John Ranieri of Staatsburg, NY, Patricia Ranieri of Astoria, NY, and Thomas Ranieri and his wife, Donna of Germantown, NY; step grandchildren, James R. Ranieri and his wife Meghan, and Anthony Ranieri of Raleigh, NC, Christine Kochart of Austin, TX, Stephanie and Amanda Kochart of Schertz, TX, and Thomas and Olivia Ranieri of Germantown, NY. He is survived by one step great-grandson, James Jackson Ranieri of Raleigh, NC; nephew, two nieces, and many cousins in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Moisuk and his sister, Edna Underwood and her husband, Gene. Visitation will be at Renaissance Funeral Home 7615 Six Forks Road Raleigh, NC on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 4pm ââ?¬â?? 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of the Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC on Monday June 20, 2011 at 11am. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimers North Carolina Inc., 1305 Navaho Dr. Suite 101 Raleigh, NC 27609.
