Obituary For Elizabeth Maureen Pabst

Elizabeth Maureen “Beth” Pabst of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 4, 2018, at the age of sixty-four, after a decade-long battle with cancer. Her indomitable spirit will be missed dearly by her many close friends and family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen and Lewis H. Beall.

She was a hard-headed, tough woman with a big heart and welcoming character. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 8, 1953 as Elizabeth Beall, Beth was the oldest of six children. She grew up in the Baltimore area where she met her husband, Rich Pabst, in 1979 on a blind date. She worked for Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where she received her nursing training. After the birth of her son, she took a break from nursing and relocated to the Raleigh area a few years later in 1991. She began working as a nurse again at WakeMed in 2004 before retiring from nursing in 2017.

She is survived by her husband Rich and her two children Brenton (Alana) Pabst and Kendall (Ben Koch) Pabst; and her five siblings Steve Beall, Marty (Sheila) Beall, Mary-Carole Zaworski, Peggy (Don) Putman, and Vickie (Tim) Myers as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, and grandpuppies. We’ll miss you, Mama.

A visitation will be held on Thursday May 10, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Renaissance Funeral Home. The funeral will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church the next day on Friday May 11, 2018 at 3:30 PM. Following the funeral, Beth's remains will be placed in the columbarium at St. Francis at a later date.

The family would very much like to thank the staff at Duke University Hospital for their skills, compassion, and excellence.
