Elisabetta Monteforte Barresi, 76, formerly of Westbury, NY, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed from this life on Tuesday August 25, 2015 at her home in Raleigh, NC.

Born on May 6th, 1939 to Angelo and Palma Monteforte in Durrazzano , Italy. She came to America in 1958 where she met her husband of 51 years, Domenick Barresi, then proceeded to start their family.

Elisabetta was a selfless and giving woman, always putting others ahead of herself. Her enormous heart and kind spirit fueled her desire to make others happy. Her cooking and baking could cure anything that ailed you.

Elisabetta was the founding owner and operator of My Hero in Merrick, NY for nearly 30 years. To this day; it is an iconic building of the community. In 1996 she and her husband relocated to Raleigh, NC joining their sons, Vinnie and Angelo establishing yet another neighborhood staple, Vincent's Pizza & Pasta. She knew the way to people’s hearts was through her cooking, and it was her mission.

She is survived by her husband Domenick, sons Vincenzo & Angelo, grandsons Dominic & Devin and granddaughter Adriana. Brothers Vincenzo & Frank, sisters Antoinette, Alfonsina and Maria. She is predeceased by her bother Joseph Monteforte.

Visitation will be held Saturday August 29 2 -4 pm & 7-9 pm, Sunday August 30 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at Donohue-Cecere Funeral Home, 290 Post Ave. Westbury, NY. Funeral Services will take place Monday August 31, 2015 at 9:45 am at St Brigids Holy Rood , 75 Post Ave , Westbury .
