Obituary For Eli Seth Klausner

Eli Seth Klausner, 64, of East Rockaway, NY passed away on April 13, 2020 in Raleigh, NC.

Eli was born in New Hyde Park, NY to Lenore and Albert Klausner on July 7, 1955. He attended public schools there, as well as, receiving a Jewish education at his local shul, where he regularly sneaked out of Hebrew school classes to get pizza with his friends. He went on to earn Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Syracuse University. While at SU he played matchmaker for two close friends, much to the disappointment of the young lady’s mother. He also met his former wife, Kristine. After school he was a member of the Communications Workers of America, Local 1109 and worked for various companies until starting his own telecommunications business based in New York, New York. He continued to work in the NYC area, eventually gaining clients up and down the East Coast, including his favorites in Florida. His favorite part of both his job and life in general was helping people and would often work whatever odd hours he needed to in order to get the job done. He also showed the same dedication to his children and grandchildren, supporting them very enthusiastically, with their various sports games, band concerts, theatre performances, and dance recitals.

Eli is survived by his three children: Jennifer Cramer of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Jared Klausner of Apex, NC; and Heather Beard of Apex NC, as well as their spouses; by his siblings, Susan O’Brien of Asharoken, NY and Ethan Klausner of Gladstone, NJ; by his grandchildren, Lillian and Fiona Cramer of Voorheesville, NY; his two nieces and nephew, as well as, his dog, Marley and his cat, Monty.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenore Klausner; his father, Albert Klausner; his close friends, Murray Newmark and Bob Jagendorf, as well as, his much beloved pets, Shadow, Misty, Buster, Bridget, Nikki, and Rocco.

A Celebration of Life will take place at later date after the nationwide travel limitations are lifted.

When I got the call that Eli had passed, my heart sank. It felt as though part of my own family was gone too. He was funny, sweet, trying, and aggravating. I wouldn't have changed it. I made an unlikely friend with his son Jared. Turned out to be my best friend. I then met his father when I brought my new born son to Jared's house and forced jared to hold him. Eli was immediatly welcoming to everyone almost like family. Always checking on them, asking questions making sure everyone was ok. I was shortly after invited to join in various jobs with them in NC and NY, again maybe the 5th time I've met this man welcomed me into his home no questions always bought dinner. Usually chinese food. I consider this man family. He will be greatly missed, I am not blood related but I cared for him, he always checked on me and my family. I always asked about his sugar and gave him crap when he didnt have an answer. I'll miss you sir. Rest easy From "scary looking guy"

I worked with Eli for many years as a partner. His passion for his work, and the people around him were always his top priority. But his family came first. Firstly, Eli you will be missed terribly. I met Eli about 18 years ago at a divorce group. He had the funniest sense of humor. He would love to torture me in a funny way. I got Bas Mitzvahed as an adult, and I remember him putting 18 pennies in the card. That was a beautiful gesture, and meant the world to me. He will be missed by all. Hi Family, my name is Eric Abbott from Volunteers of America, in NY city. I want to send my condolences and heartfelt sympathy to you and the family in this time of uncertainty. I just heard about Eli's passing during a conference call today, and the group (90%) of us all started remembering our times with him. Eli was a man of character and we all loved and respected his knowledge and commitment to us, his customers. We remembered him with laughter and jovial instances of his exploits with us and how he continued to work us despite some of our shortcomings. We laughed and remembered how he always had a story for us, that we look back now and still appreciated a good laugh and his humor. So again, from Denver, Vlad, Allison, and myself, we will miss him but he will never by forgotten. Our love and prayers to the family, VOA IT department.

I have known Eli for over 30 years and I cant think of him without smiling. To say we worked together does not do our relationship justice. We had so many experiences together that shaped my personal and professional life. Eli had a rare ability to make the best out of many difficult situations and he and I enjoyed our times together and always looked forward to our next adventure. He loved his family and always asked about nine and took great pleasure in knowing the personal things. We never missed wishing each other a holiday greeting and that was my last discussion with him before Passover. We shared a dear friend in Bob Jagendorf who mentored us both and we also shared a love for a great Pastrami sandwich at the Carnegie, the Stage or Katzs deli. Eli and I loved to sell together and we balanced out each others eccentricities. We sold a lot of things to Goldman Sachs. So somebody up there must have like him. Rest In Peace my dear friend and may everyone in the Klausner family who was Elis greatest joy find comfort in knowing you are not alone in your grief. .
