Obituary For Eileen Katherine Cusick

Mrs. Eileen Cusick, age 93, of Raleigh, NC (formerly of Stamford, CT and Bronx, NY) passed away peacefully on October 20, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late William Ferrarini and Letitia Robinson Ferrarini. Eileen was born on January 15, 1926 in the Bronx, New York. She was united in matrimony to Robert J. Cusick in August of 1948. Robert preceded Eileen in death in 1985. Eileen loved baseball and football and was a huge fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Her last days were spent cheering for Aaron Judge and company in the American League Championship Series. Eileen enjoyed traveling with her friends and explored many European cities. Having lived during WWII and later married to a U.S. Marine, one of her most meaningful memories was walking on the beach in Normandy during the 50th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.

Eileen also enjoyed trying her luck at local bingo games and delighted in the many trips taken with her three children to sample the slot machines in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Little River, SC and Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Her most recent trip included celebrating her 91st birthday at Harrah’s in Cherokee, NC.

Eileen’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Cathy Ann Monahan (Philip) of Selden, NY; Karen Cusick Campbell (Greg) of Cary, NC ; Robert (Bobby) Cusick (Susan Pentangelo) of Norwalk, CT; her four grandchildren, Christine Monahan Tinerino (Vincent), Kate Cusick, Danielle Campbell, Kira Cusick; her great-grandson, Tristan Santiago; her most beloved sister, Joan Richard; niece, Eileen Taht (Bill); grandniece, Shannon Richard, and a host of caring nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the country.

So saddened by the loss of one of my favorite people in the world.Of all the people I've met in 68 years,Aunt Eileen had a zest for life and upbeat attitude only matched by mother. That's probably why they were such close friends from the time they were kids.Every time I was ever around her or spoke with her I was uplifted by her incredible spirit.I deeply cherish my lifelong relationship with her and will dearly miss her.I am praying each day that God will greatly comfort our entire family at this difficult timeof missing dear Eileen.Love Willie
