Ed was born to Beatrice & Edward Warnicke in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 21, 1936. He graduated from Notre Dame, and joined the Marine Corps immediately after graduation, where he served on active duty for 11 years and achieved the rank of Captain.

In 1974 he married Mary Kathleen Tyler. Between 1974 & 1980 they received the gift of four boys—Edward Albert on December 9, 1974, Thomas Christopher on May 14, 1975, John Patrick on January 2, 1979, & Michael Paul on May 14, 1980. Upon Michael’s joining the family, Ed decided to join the Indiana National Guard to vest his Military retirement. All together he served his country for 25 years.

On September 6, 2023, he passed back to Our Dear Lord, just one month and 6 days short of being married to Kathleen for 49 years. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, & 2 of his 4 sons, Eddie, and John, and his sister Louise & her 5 children: Phillip, Paul, David, Annette, & Stephen.

His funeral will be celebrated on September 23 at 2:00 pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Peter Devereux, LC as celebrant.

His interment will be in St. Joseph’s columbarium along with his 2 sons Michael & Chris immediately after Mass, followed by a reception in St. Monica’s Hall.
