Edmundo Julio Flores, 72, of Raleigh NC passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Feb 7, 2019 after a long illness. Born on July 13, 1946 in Lima, Peru, son of Alida Uzategui and Luis Flores who preceded him in death, Edmundo attended the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru where he studied Law. With a Master of Law degree, he worked for many years as a corporate lawyer and represented many large corporations in labor matters including PetroPeru, Texaco, Pirelli, and Banco Continental.

He was married to Clara Bellido on January 13, 1973. He left his lucrative career in law and with Clara moved to Raleigh in 2002 to be close to his family. In semi-retirement, Edmundo dedicated his time to being the best grandfather ever to his 8 grandchildren and along with Clara cared for other kids in their home. They also would come to call Edmundo “Papapa” or grandpa. The kids fondly remember all the walks with papapa Edmundo around the neighborhood and around Lake Lynn. He was a staple at St. Francis of Assisi Church where his grandchildren attended school.

Edmundo lived life to the fullest, with a profound enjoyment of family road trips, camping, 4-wheeling, beach outings, cruising and animals. Beloved husband, amazing father, and doting grandfather, Edmundo will always be remembered for his illuminating smile, genuine care and respect for others, and unwavering dedication and sacrifice for his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Clara along with their three daughters Karina Flores Rodriguez, Silvana Flores Rodriguez, and Andrea Flores Walker, sons-in-law, Adolfo Rodriguez and Nathan Walker; and eight grandchildren: Nicolas, Camila, Gabriela, Olivia, Tomas, Diego, Sebastian, and Samantha. He will be greatly missed!
