Obituary For Dorothy Ann Jonczak

Dorothy Ann Jonczak, 86, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 02, 2017 in Raleigh, NC. She was born Monday, March 16, 1931 in Moundsville, WV to John and Alice Pinzok. She married Raymond Jonczak in 1952 in Erie, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and five siblings; Helen Zelaski, John Pinzok, Lawrence Pinzok, Evelyn Starceski, and Thomas Pinzok.

She is survived by her sister; Edna Burbules of Erie, PA; her son, Anthony Jonczak (Sarah) of Durham, NC; her oldest grandson, Jason (Michele) and their children; Holden, Hayes and Emery; her daughter, Alice Scott Jeffrey), and their children Andrew, Timothy and Nathan of North Hills, CA; her son, Lawrence Jonczak (Rebecca)and their children Jennifer, Lauren, Leah and David of Rockwall, TX; her daughter, Virginia Craig (Stephen) and their children Haley and Daniel of Raleigh, NC and daughter Elaine Jolley (Michael) and their children Caleb and Natalie of Apex, NC.

Dorothy was a long time resident of Raleigh, NC. Along with her family, she previously lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California before moving to North Carolina in 1979.

She loved to cook and bake, her specialties but not limited to, was Polish favorites, wonderful cakes and pies, home-made pizza, lasagna and salads. She was a long time member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church Alter Guild and had many friends. She loved sewing and worked as a floral designer and event caterer while living in Gastonia, NC.

She was a wonderful Wife and Mother who truly loved and was loved by all of her family. She loved to write letters and send cards. Her home was frequently visited , because of her loving hospitality and kindness, by out of town relatives and friends. Her family kiddingly named her house ‘Dorothy’s Bed & Breakfast’ in Raleigh. She was truly a loving and thoughtful Wife, Mother and Friend and will be sincerely missed.

The Visitation is from 12:00 noon, Monday, November 6, 2017, and Catholic Service at 1:00PM at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church 5801 Falls of Neuse Road - Raleigh, NC. Father Bruce Bavinger will be serving the Mass and Service. The Burial will be at Raleigh Memorial Park , 7501 Glenwood Ave - Raleigh, NC through Renaissance Funeral Home.
