Donald Harry Ross of Raleigh, NC passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the age of 83. The son of Harry and Florence Ross, Don was born in Rochester, NY. He is preceded in death by his son Randall Kent.

Don served in the US Army during the Korean conflict as a medic, and graduated from the University of Tennessee before going on to work for IBM as a Systems Engineer for 33 years. Don spent many hours with his kids at the swimming pool and as a Scoutmaster. In later years he relished travelling the world with the love of his life, Mert, reading, and touring the yard with John Deere.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Miller Ross; brother Tom of Greer, SC; sons Scott and Marty; and daughter Lori Grannan from Raleigh; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am February 28, 2015 at Prospect Methodist Church, 1974 Ebony Road, Ebony VA 23845. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prospect Methodist Church or a charity of your choosing.
