Mrs. Diana Parody, 82, of Syracuse, NY peacefully passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Parody was retired from Wegmans Food Market, Syracuse, NY for nearly 30 years. She worked in various positions throughout the company during that period.

She was united in matrimony to Gilbert James Parody, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2017. This union was blessed with six children.

Her life will forever be cherished by the lives of her six children; Todd Parody, Scott and Karen Parody, Kelly and Stan Smith,Colleen and Mark Schartau, Michelle and Richard Pullano,Thomas and Heather Parody, along with her 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. And several nieces and nephews.

Diana moved to Raleigh, NC in May of 2018 where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law.

She made new friends, joined the Rex Wellness Center; she loved her swim time, stories and lunch outings with her swim group. On a Friday night she loved to go to Dominck’s Pizza, get pizza and sit outside by the water. She would sit outside on the back patio for hours listening to the birds, watching the bunnies and doing her wordsearch puzzles, always making sure that Molly (the family dog) was nearby. She loved visiting the beach, watching the airplanes come and go at the airport and watching the beautiful sunsets and reminiscing about old times.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday March 27th. at 11:00am at Renaissance Funeral Home.
