Obituary For Deepak Mago
Deepak Mago, 70, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer. He was born on October 10, 1953 in Mumbai, India. He was the son of the late Kharatilal Mago and Jankidevi Mago.
He attended Patkar College with a bachelor’s in economics. His charismatic energy led to a job working at the front desk at the 5-star Holiday Inn in Mumbai before immigrating to the United States in 1990. He truly lived the American dream, starting as the manager in multiple Indian restaurants in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area before becoming an Operations Support Specialist at the United States Postal Service. After retiring, he used his love of learning to teach driving to international students. During the pandemic he took up drawing, at which he was very skilled. Art, along with gardening, dancing, exercising, and watching India play cricket were his favorite hobbies.
He was united in matrimony to Kavita Mago on February 18, 1981, a loving marriage of 43 years. The union was blessed with 2 children, Deesha and Divyang.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mukesh Mago.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Deesha (Dhaval) of Cary, NC; Divyang (Hetal) of Rockville, MD; 4 grandchildren Ahana, Aalisha, Alina, and Ayaan.
