Obituary For Debra Ann Ashford

Mrs. Debra A. Ashford, 67 of Clayton, NC passed away on 11-26-2022 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Rosizna Pruitt. Debra was born on 2-3-1955 in Maben, MS. She attended Mississippi Public Schools and was a graduate of St. Augustine College with a BS in Business. Debra also graduated from First Union College with a MS in Accounting.

She was United in Holy Matrimony to James B. Ashford in August of 1987. There were no children born to this union.

Debra enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking and doing Crossword Puzzles. She also enjoyed cuddling and spending time with her two cats,, Maggie and Satterferry. Her son, Rashad , was her absolute heart.

Debra was preceded in death by her Mother, Rosezina Pruitt and her Father Willie Pruitt. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Oscie Pruitt and her stepson, Jamie Berry.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James B. Ashford, of the home, her son, Rashad Baker(Caroline) of Garner, NC and stepdaughter Tiffany M. Smith (Rev. Eddie) of Oxford, NC. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two step- granddaughters, Amiracle Smith and Kendyl Berry, one brother, Larry Pruitt(Deborah) of Maben, MS and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Viewing and Visitation will be held at 1-2 pm on Wednesday, 11-30-2022, at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615. Immediately following will be the burial services in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
