Obituary For David Ronald Perlini

David Ronald Perlini, 68, in Raleigh NC, oldest and beloved son of Frances Caplankas Perlini and the late Americo Perlini, of Fairfield CT passed on from his time here with us to continue his journey.

David’s sparkling blue eyes, charismatic personality and artistic nature carried him through his life and was filled with travel, work and friendships from Provincetown to Maui. David was always there to help his friends, especially those who were in their final hours. His love of gardening was a pleasure he looked forward to each spring, and could never pass up purchasing another flower for his garden. His love of cooking, which he learned in family kitchens, led to his long-time association with the well-known Mews Restaurant in Provincetown; to the opening of the Hali‘imaile General Store on Maui; and to working as a personal chef for many well-known celebrities… George Harrison and Ringo Starr..among his favorites.

As his journey ends with us, we hope he is re-united with his beloved partner, Richard Roderick. In addition to his mother, Frances, David leaves behind his devoted and deeply caring brother and sister-in-law, Richard Perlini and Kathleen Brennan Perlini, of Raleigh, NC whose care for him in the last few months has been extraordinary. He also leaves behind his ever-loving “baby” sister, Debora Perlini of Wake Forest, NC.

I knew David through a friend and visited him a number of times at his Provincetown abode. He always had a kind word and beautiful smile to share with others. What I remember most about David was his love of his dog, who once was lost for a night....thankfully his best buddy was found and David could continue to live a comforting live with him. So sorry for David's passing....he was a gem among the sandy shores of Provincetown!

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in Psalm 34:18. "God is close to the broken-hearted and saves those crushed in spirit. "Make God your comfort. He "heals the broken-hearted." Psalm 147:3 and provides "refuge and strength in times of distress." Psalm 46:1

David was an important part of the success of the Mews Restaurant in Provincetown MA. As former Sous Chef, Chef, and Prep Kitchen Manager over very many years he was much loved. He was on the air with me several times on our morning Cape Cod radio show about his being a chef to the celebrities when he was in Hawaii prior to coming to The Mews. His friendship with Ringo Starr and his wife and the dinner he prepared for Ringo and George Harrison were among our favorite stories. Much love to you Debbie and your family during this difficult time from all of us at The Mews Restaurant. There's a special place in our hearts for this wonderful man. Ron Robin (Owner Mews Restaurant and morning DJ at Dunes Radio)
