David Brown died peacefully in his home on September 10, 2018, in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Brown, daughters, Sian Brown and Freya Walker, and granddaughters, Enid and Oona Walker.

David Brown was born in Southampton, England, on March 25, 1943, to Frederick George Brown and Gladys Eva Benson. He graduated from University of Bath with a degree in Engineering. David met Jennifer Brown in 1967 while they worked at British Aircraft. He soon married his bride on September 28, 1968. The couple had two daughters, Sian and Freya, while living in England. In 1977 the family relocated to Ottawa, Canada, as David began working for Bell Northern Research as an electrical engineer. His children remember him as a kind and generous father who was always there when they needed him. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughters.

While David Brown was an engineer by trade, he also enjoyed discussing politics and news articles with his online friends. He enjoyed watching football (soccer) with his dog and constant companion, Hawking. He also loved a good mulligatawny soup! David will be deeply missed by friends and family.
