Daniel Thomas Chorba, 85, of Raleigh, NC, died on October 20, 2019. He was born in Swoyersville, PA, on April 12, 1934, to the late Michael and Josephine Chorba. He graduated from Grand Army of the Republic High School, Wilkes Barre, PA. He also attended Newark State Teachers College (Kean University), Newark, NJ. He spent most of his career employed by Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals, first in Summit, NJ and later in Ardsley, NY. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marilyn. In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by two daughters, Danette (Mark) Evans and Wendy (Wayne) Cecil; as well as three grandchildren, Jonathan Farrell, Jessica Farrell and Jennifer Evans. Daniel was an ardent music lover, especially of the gospel and country genres. He enjoyed singing and entertaining in his deep, rich bass baritone voice, over the years he was a member of several choirs and singing groups. He also collected antique firearms and weaponry, enjoyed playing several sports, and was an avid student of civil war history. A talented artist, his gift was passed on to the next generations. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 12333 Bayleaf Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27614.
