Daniel Joseph Emrich, 53, of Raleigh passed away at home on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, after a long illness. He was born in Hamilton, NY, on January 1, 1959. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Emrich of Morrisville, NY; and stepfather Hugh Scott of Oneonta, NY. He is survived by his mother Barbara Moten Scott of Oneonta, NY; his wife Sandra Farless Emrich of Raleigh; children Floyd Clement of Chittenango, NY; Heather Wills and husband Clint of Raleigh; Christopher Emrich of Raleigh; and stepson James Campbell of Raleigh. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike Emrich and wife Terry of Boones Mill, VA; and Paul Emrich and wife Martha of Victor, NY; sisters Mary Beth Crotser and husband Ron of Oneonta, NY; Nancy Woodcock of Charlotte, NC; and Joanne Burch and husband Sean of Oneonta, NY; a granddaughter Leda Grace; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Dan worked at Plainville Turkey Farm in New York and became an insurance salesman after moving to Raleigh in the early 90s. He loved his family, cooking, and was an avid fan of NASCAR racing. Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, from 11:00 â?? 12:00 noon just prior to the service at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC.
