Mrs. Clarene D. Mahlmeister, 85, was called home to her Lord on September, 30th, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers.

She was a native of Buffalo, NY and spent 20 years living in Lakeland, FL before moving to the Raleigh area in 2010

She spent her life volunteering for various religious and health organizations. She was a devout Catholic having spent several years as a Scripture Reader for Sunday services. She provided religious education services to local youth through the CCD program at St. Mary’s in Lancaster, NY. She also volunteered at the Merrilac Guild in Buffalo as well as the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Florida. Her working career included time at the New York Central Railroad as well as the Children’s Store in Lancaster, NY.

She loved spending time with her family, dogs and birds and after retirement enjoyed travelling with her husband, in their motor home to the annual family vacation to Myrtle Beach. She also spent many happy hours on the golf course and teaching the Line Dancing Group at Sandpiper Golf and Country Club in Lakeland.

She was predeceased by her parents Edwin Moser and Clara Moser (Gruber). She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Howard; son, Mark and daughter in law Joanne, grandson, Nathan and granddaughter Ashley, daughter, Amy, daughter, Sharon and son-in-law Eric, grandson Sean. Her extended family and friends included family by marriage and her loving team of caregivers who provided her with the very best quality of life though her last days.
