Early in life sports became a major part of his life. He graduated from Great Mills High School, Lexington Park, Maryland with many athletic awards. He was invited to join the Baltimore Orioles baseball farm team on the same day that he received his draft notice. After his service in the U.S. Army with one tour in Viet Nam, Monte attended and graduated from High Point University with a degree in Business Administration. Monte enjoyed his work with Michelin Tire Corporation as a Regional Sales Representative and his work with Allied Barton as a Security Officer.

Monte’s spiritual walk began when he was a child attending Sunday School and singing in the children’s choir. In his adult life he attended Bible Study Fellowship, Crossroads’ Sunday school, small group and men’s Bible studies. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at a Franklin Graham crusade. There are so many good memories with my dear friend, Monte. I was there when he got a hole-in-one at Cheviot Hills Golf Course. What excitement we both shared. Barbara and the family - may the Lord give you peace and joy in knowing that Monte is now in a suffer-free zone for eternity. He is and will always be missed here on earth, but someday we will meet again. Hallelujah!
